New Barn Stud

New Barn Stud choose:

New Barn Stud is a family-run stud based in Launton, Oxfordshire. Although officially opened as New Barn Stud in 2018, they’ve been part of the village for over 30 years, building their reputation on experience, trust and a genuine love of horses.

The stud is owned and run by Sharon, who has decades of hands-on experience with horses and foaling. From foaling down and breeding support to livery and everyday care, she treats every horse as if it were her own. Working closely with Equine Veterinary and Reproduction, we’re able to offer experienced, supportive care throughout every stage of the breeding journey.

Sharon is supported by her niece, Tash, who looks after the business side of things and keeps everything ticking along behind the scenes. During the busy stud season, though, she’s just as likely to be out in the yard, helping Sharon with the hands-on jobs and mucking in wherever she’s needed. Together, they work hard to create a friendly, relaxed environment where horses always come first and owners know their horses are in safe hands.

Did you know?

When they’re not busy at the stud, they like to keep active too. Outside of the breeding season, Sharon takes on ultra marathons, and whenever they can, she and Tash escape to the mountains for long hikes and a well-earned change of scenery.

At New Barn Stud, we wouldn't use anything other than Pure Flake Extra for foaling down. They're incredibly soft and comfortable for both mare and foal, giving us complete confidence during such an important time. One of the biggest reasons we love them is their low-dust quality, which helps reduce the risk of irritation and infection for vulnerable newborn foals. They're also exceptionally absorbent, keeping the bed drier by drawing moisture away quickly, so foals aren't lying on wet patches. The result is a clean, comfortable and hygienic environment that gives both us and our clients real peace of mind. We've used Pure Flake Extra for our stud season, and for us, nothing else compares.
