John Whitaker MBE needs no introduction, one of the most successful riders in history, he has been at the very top of the sport for over 40 years. He is well known for his relationship with Milton, the first horse to win over one million pounds in prize money outside of racing.
Heyside Farm has been the base for John for over 40 years; when John and his wife Clare first moved to the farm in 1979 it had 8 acres and 7 stables, together they have transformed the farm into a working yard with over 150 acres and 40 stables. They enjoy running a successful business for competition horses from here alongside their daughters Joanne and Louise.
John has won every competition possible… including; 3 Olympic Medals, 5 World Championship Medals & 13 European Championships Medals.
Did you know?
John was awarded his MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2007 for his services to equestrianism and show jumping. He received this honor from Queen Elizabeth II.
